The specific
information about the absence policy can be found on page 9 of the Student
handbook, but here is an abridged version.
“ Absent limit
– absent limit in a 12 week term is five (5) excused or unexcused. On the
sixth (6) absence, the student will be required to achieve at least a C+ on
the final exam to have his/her grade calculated for the term. If a student
does not attain a C+ grade on the final exam, the student will need to file
an appeal with the office of the principal. The appeal must be filed within
three school days of not achieving the C+. The appeal must provide an

To attend

You can call
the high school office (231) 832-2224 during the school day and the secretary will forward
your call to the teacher’s extension. If the teacher is teaching, the call
will go to their voicemail. If you call after school hours, the buildings
automated phone system will guide you through the process to find the
teacher’s extension, allowing you to leave a message. You can also obtain
their e-mail address from the district web-site and send an e-mail. Our
intent is to have all responses returned in an appropriate amount of time. |
|
Does the school feel that the liaison officer has
reduced or discouraged the number of fights in the school? |
Not one person
can prevent all the physical altercations between students, but having law
enforcement presence has definitely assisted many students in working
positively through their problems and issues. In the long run, the
relationship that is developed with students will have a positive impact
on student behavior. So the answer is; yes. |

others. If you have a question you would like to post please send your
